Reading the results

The expected result is the average outcome if this exact session were repeated many times. The typical range covers about two-thirds of possible outcomes. Notice how the bars fall as the number of bets rises: that is the house edge at work. Learn more in understanding odds and probability and the gambler's fallacy.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between RTP and house edge?

They are two sides of the same coin: RTP is the share of stakes returned to players in the long run, house edge is the share kept. A 96% RTP game has a 4% house edge.

Why does my chance of being ahead fall the more I play?

Your expected loss grows in proportion to the number of bets, while random swings grow only with the square root. Over enough bets, the edge always outweighs luck.

How accurate is the "chance of finishing ahead" figure?

It uses a normal approximation, which is reasonable for hundreds of bets but rough for very few bets or extremely volatile games such as jackpot slots. Treat it as an illustration of the trend, not a precise prediction.
