Austria offers free, confidential gambling support through specialist outpatient services in every province, often called Spielsuchthilfe or Spielerberatung. In Vienna, Spielsuchthilfe provides prevention, counselling and therapy for gamblers and their relatives, and its services are available nationwide, free and anonymously if you wish. Provincial addiction counselling centres and psychiatric outpatient clinics also treat gambling disorder. Casinos Austria and Österreichische Lotterien run player-protection departments that can impose or arrange bans. Peer support is available through Anonyme Spieler (Gamblers Anonymous) groups. Self-tests can help you reflect, but they are not diagnoses; a counsellor can assess your situation properly.
