Gambling help in Canada

Problem gambling support in Canada is organised provincially and is free at the point of use. Each province funds a helpline and outpatient counselling, typically linked to public health or addiction services: ConnexOntario in Ontario, the Gambling Support Line in British Columbia, the Addiction Helpline in Alberta and Jeu : aide et rรฉfรฉrence in Quebec, among others. Most offer phone, chat or text contact and refer callers to local treatment, including residential programmes for severe cases. Peer support via Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon is widely available, and the national 9-8-8 suicide crisis line is there for anyone in acute distress. First Nations and Inuit people can also use the Hope for Wellness Helpline.
