Gambling help in United States

Support in the United States is spread across national lines, state programmes and local treatment providers. The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) runs a national helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET, after a 2025 court order ended its use of 1-800-GAMBLER; that older number is still answered by the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey. Most states fund their own helpline and free or low-cost outpatient counselling, often through a state council affiliated with NCPG. Peer support through Gamblers Anonymous and Gam-Anon is available nationwide, and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is there for anyone in acute distress. Because rules and services vary, callers are usually routed to resources in their own state.
