Step-by-step manual
Self-exclusion in Denmark
ROFUS (Register Over Frivilligt Udelukkede Spillere) is Denmark's national self-exclusion register, in place since the market opened in 2012. All licensed online operators must check it, and it also covers land-based casinos and betting in physical shops. You can choose a 24-hour pause, a temporary exclusion of 1, 3 or 6 months, or a permanent exclusion. Registration is binding: it cannot be cancelled or deleted, even if you regret it. Temporary exclusions end automatically. A permanent exclusion can be lifted only after at least one year, and the request must be confirmed again between 7 and 30 days later. Registration uses MitID, with a paper form for people without it.

The steps
- 1
Log in with MitID
Go to ROFUS, the register run by Spillemyndigheden, and log in with MitID so your identity can be confirmed. You can only register yourself.
- 2
No MitID? Use the form
If you do not have MitID, complete ROFUS form 9-01 and send it to Spillemyndigheden through its contact form or by post to its Odense office.
- 3
Choose your exclusion
Pick a 24-hour pause, 1, 3 or 6 months, or permanent exclusion. Whatever you choose is binding and cannot be cancelled.
- 4
What happens next
Licensed online operators must block you, and land-based casinos and betting shops must refuse you. Operators also may not send you marketing.
- 5
Add extra layers
Ask your bank about blocking gambling payments and install blocking software, because ROFUS does not reach unlicensed sites.
- 6
Temporary exclusion ends
Temporary exclusions end automatically when the period runs out. Consider renewing before that date; StopSpillet can help you think it through.
- 7
Lifting a permanent exclusion
After at least one year, log in with MitID to request deletion. You must then confirm by logging in again between 7 and 30 days later, or the request lapses.

- Lottery products sold by the state monopoly and gaming machines in arcades and restaurants may not be fully covered.
- ROFUS cannot block unlicensed foreign sites; use bank blocks and blocking software as well.
